Global Giving Project
This project plans to train 200 unskilled teachers engaged in low-paid schools, equipping them
with 21st-century training skills to effectively educate their students. This will help improve
quality of education delivered to their students and horn the skills of job seekers who became
teachers especially in low-paid schools owing to lack of job availability in Nigeria.
WHAT IS THE ISSUE, PROBLEM OR CHALLENGE?
The lack of job availability in Nigeria forces individuals to take jobs wherever they can find it,
whether they are qualified or not. This results in un-skilled teachers that are ill-equipped to
impart knowledge to students taking up teaching jobs especially in low-paid schools.
7. HOW WILL THIS SOLVE THE PROBLEM?
This project plans to train unqualified teachers in the methodology of innovative education,
formulation of lesson plans and lesson notes, improvised course delivery and class management
giving them vital information and ability to effectively educate their students. With this training,
the teachers are empowered to effectively impart knowledge and understanding to their
students, who are the future of the nation.
8. POTENTIAL LONG-TERM IMPACT
– This project will equip 200 unqualified teachers in low-paid schools with the ability to
properly teach and educate their students, which will give the students a better chance to
shape their own future.
